The cottage is fully modernized while retaining an old-world feel, with original wood floors, open peat fireplace and more. The cottage is on an elevated location overlooking Portmagee Harbor. It also features fine ocean and countryside views. A large walled-in front yard is well suited for small children. There are three bedrooms with two double beds and two singles (additional bedroom on request), living room with open fireplace, sitting room, kitchen and dining room.

Portmagee village, an easy walk from the cottage, is an active fishing village with pubs, restaurants, a foodstore and a cafe/bakery . Traditional music and set-dancing are scheduled frequently in the local pubs. Cahersiveen, Waterville and Knightstown are all a short drive away and offer excellent dining and other amenities of larger towns. The cottage is a short distance to the Ring of Kerry. Boat trips to the Skelligs leave daily from Portmagee in season
