Description of the bed and breakfast

situated in the hamlet of Ubeda near Pinoso amidst vineyards, olive groves and fruit orchards, Casa 10-11 is perfect for those who wish to experience an authentic taste of the real Spain away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded coastline.

In this beautiful and tranquil setting you can breakfast outdoors on the patio, lunch by the pool or in the shaded gaden cafe area, and dine in the evening under a canopy of grapevines.

Retaining many of the original features the house has been uniquely decorated with themed rooms, hand painted floors and stencilled walls to create a delightful 'shabby chic' ambience.

Accommodation is provided in individually themed en-suite rooms and can be booked on a bed and breakfast basis or self catering for groups of 6 9,or up to 15 plus baby.

Surrounded on three sides by vineyards, our garden is both private and tranquil. Swim in the 10 x 4 swimming pool with waterfall jacuzzi or relax by the pool feeling the warm mediterranean breeze gently caressing your skin.

Our bar and function room hosts many activies and you are welcome to take part in any of our dance or exercise classes, games evenings or bbq's. Bar Fuego can accommodate up to 60 people and is an ideal place to hold your special celebration, with or without accommodation.
There is a small beauty salon on site wherre you can pamper yourself with a massage, facial or other beauty treatment and for those of you who feel more energetic we have mountain bikes for hire and can arrange many adventure activities for you, from horseriding to quad biking. The whole surrounding area is of natural beauty, rich in culture and history and is excellent for bird watching, walking, water colours or photograpy.

Surroundings and activities

Surroundings:

There is plenty to do if you don't fancy relaxing by the pool or exploring the countryside. Our nearest town is Pinoso, 4kms away with many bars and restaurants, and Sax, Elda, Jumilla and Yecla are all within a 20 minutes drive. There are many places of interest to visit whilst in the area, Yecla, famous for its furniture factories and shoe making, Aspe with its church and moderist casino, Monovar with its steep narrow roads and clock tower, Fortuna, a thermal spa town, Jumilla, the wine producing capital of southern Spain and caves, museums and much more.

Alicante and the beaches are just 40 minutes away with Benidorm and Torrevieja 45-55 mins away. For culture lovers, there are many castles and historic buildings that reflect on the diverse and often turbulent past. The Moorish and North African influences sit side by side with magnificent cathederals and churches.
Pinoso has a sports centre with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, football grounds, tennis courts, etc. There is also a theatre,an excellent medical centre. The local market is held on a Saturday wherre fruit, vegetables and clothes can be bought. Other markets are held most days in the surrounding towns. There is a thriving English community locally and English food and newspapers are readily available.

Activities:

No one likes to party more than the Spanish people. Fire, gunpowder,flowers and colour are the most important ingredients of the local street parties. The party atmosphere is second to none as everyone dances the night away.The fiestas in this area are fantastic, La Hoguares de San Juan are Alicantes celebration par excellence, a fiesta which summarises the friendly and passionate character of the town. During the celebrations Alicante's streets become the showcase for ninots, large sculptural pieces that depicit satirical characters of social or political life and these amazing works of arts are burnt at midnight with a background of fireworks. The streets of Alicante are alive with parties until very late the next morning.

The famous Moors and Christian fiestas take place most weekends from February to September and their costumes are amazing. Thousands participate and proudly parade in their breathtaking outfits throughout the night.

Jumilla hosts a famous wine fiesta where literally thousands of litres of wine are given away free, normally down your throat, in your hair, shoes and everywhere. It is a spectacular like you have never seen before.
The numerous local fiestas occur most weekends and you can join the neighbours, eating, drinking and dancing in the open air until the early hours of the morning
