Surroundings:
Crabtree apartments are located on the desired west shore of Grand Turk, an easy 10-15 minute walk to town and restaurants.
Grand Turk is a quiet, laid-back island where the people are friendly and welcoming. It is a quaint island that offers an “Old World” flavor, non-commercialized, no high rises and fast food places, only charming antique colonial architecture, beautiful sandy beaches and gorgeous turquoise sea. It is a British governed island and the island currency is the US Dollar.
Grand Turk has been well known destination for Scuba Divers for its protected underwater parks. Snorkeling around the superb coral reefs with the abundant sea life is a real treat. The Humpback whales make there annual voyage each year to breed and have their young in the warm waters around Grand Turk. There are many more of Mother Nature’s wonders to enjoy on Grand Turk as well, like the Pink Flamingos that wade in the Salinas, Osprey and Hummingbirds.
Activities:
There is wonderful snorkeling and swimming in the warm waters along shore. You can Scuba dive with one of the competent dive operations, take a day trip to an uninhabited island to cook out and swim with the Sting Ray, hike or bicycle around the island, visit the 150 year old light house, stroll the streets to view the antique colonial architecture, visit the National Museum or visit some of the other islands in the Turks and Caicos each with their own unique attractions.
